Once a platform for dancing teens, TikTok has become a world dedicated to hacks to make life easier. From how to get makeup to last during hot and humid weather to how to make a grocery bag holder from an empty tissue box holder, TikTok is a hotbed of hacks.

And Anna Antonje (@anna.antonje.gvn) has the latest hack for making trash bag changes nearly effortless. She shared a TikTok that showed her imitating an older man who showed off his trash bag-changing skills. By her expression at the end of the video, it appears she can’t believe the hack worked so well.

Some commenters were just as flabbergasted as Antonje, while others noted that the grocery bag hack was one they’d been employing for years.

“I learned this from an old guy working my first factory job and he laughed at how far my jaw dropped,” admitted @traya.joy.

“That video changed my life for the better. I passed the knowledge on to my husband & we now have one less annoyingly faffy chore,” added @ninkasi03.

“I did this when I used to clean offices had to change about 100 bags a night and it just started happening so naturally,” said @countryshoot.

TikTok is also full of other ideas for making changing the trash easier, such as stashing the whole roll of garbage bags in the bottom of the can so you always have a fresh bag waiting:

Or, lining the can “upside-down” with a new bag and pushing the bag in instead of shaking it out to “inflate” it:

Did you know this!? #lifehack #organizationhacks

In the end, whether the hack was a game-changer or not, some in the comment section still expressed their deep appreciation for how much you can learn from the social media platform.

“Sometimes you have to do it wrong awhile to more deeply appreciate better ways. I’ve learned many good life hacks from TikTok,” noted @btp385.
